Crestala is an online store for a brand specializing in luxury handmade crafts from Mansoura. It offers women’s handbags, accessories, flower bouquets, and bridal and Katb El-Kitab (marriage contract) essentials, with the option to request custom designs for every occasion. We designed and developed the store at Brmgina, creating a complete visual identity and an Arabic purchasing journey, from the first visit to the homepage through to order completion and shipping pricing within Egypt.
The store is published on crestala.net and is built on a custom WordPress theme over WooCommerce. The interface is in Arabic with a right-to-left (RTL) layout, is fully responsive on mobile and desktop, and its texts, images, and categories are managed directly from the dashboard.
Shopping Experience
The homepage opens with an announcement bar, followed by a brand introduction section, its features, an animated display of product categories, and a selection of the latest pieces. This is followed by a section for requesting custom designs, customer reviews, and a newsletter subscription form. Navigation includes Home, About Us, Shop, Offers, and Contact Us, along with a standalone mobile menu, search, customer account, and a shopping cart in the header.
Inside the store, the customer can filter products by subcategory, price range, and product attributes. Results update instantly without reloading the page, and on mobile, filters open in a touch-friendly side panel. The product card displays the image, price, a “New” badge, and the discount percentage when there is an offer, along with a direct add-to-cart option.
The product page features an image gallery with thumbnails and a counter, and supports product videos from an uploaded file or from YouTube and Vimeo. It displays availability status, product code (SKU), sale price, and the price before discount, along with tabs for the description, specifications, and shipping and return policy, followed by related products at the bottom of the page. Trust badges highlight handmade craftsmanship, delivery to all Egyptian governorates, and gift-appropriate packaging.
The side cart opens from any page and displays the contents, quantity, and total, updating instantly upon addition. The cart page completes the flow with purchase suggestions, and the checkout page collects the customer’s details and address. For Egypt, the governorate and city turn into dropdown menus, and the shipping cost is calculated based on the governorate, with the ability to set a different price for a specific city. The currency is the Egyptian Pound, and the account section allows registration, login, and managing shipping addresses.
Direct communication is available via a WhatsApp button, Facebook and Instagram links, and phone, email, and address details in the footer. The About Us, Offers, Contact Us, Privacy, and Return Policy pages are fully integrated within the store’s own identity.
Store Management
The store manager controls the announcement bar, homepage texts, images, and buttons, features sections, selected products, the custom order section, customer reviews, contact details, working hours, and social media links from a custom settings panel. The number of products on the shop page is adjustable, and shipping rates are managed in a table for governorates with an optional price for each city.
The newsletter is an independent system within the store. Subscribing requires a name and email, is protected from automated spam, and delivers a welcome message featuring Crestala’s identity. Weekly, a campaign showcasing the latest products is prepared and sent in batches via a dedicated email, with an unsubscribe link for each subscriber. Account creation and password recovery emails are designed in the store’s colors, in Arabic, and with a right-to-left (RTL) layout.
Technical Implementation
The theme is written in PHP, runs on WordPress 6.4 or later and PHP 8.1, and is compatible with WooCommerce. The interface is built with Vite and Tailwind CSS, while page interactivity relies on Alpine.js, Swiper galleries, and Lucide icons. Images are generated in custom sizes for the hero section, product cards, and the gallery to keep loading optimized for mobile devices.
Store filtering is processed through a custom API that returns the product grid, pagination, and result count. Shipping relies on a database of Egyptian governorates and cities built into the theme, linking the governorate and city fields on the checkout page in a WooCommerce-native way. The newsletter uses its own custom database tables for subscribers, campaigns, and the sending queue, featuring weekly scheduling and delivery via SMTP.
Content fields are programmatically registered and translation-ready. The theme supports both writing directions and features a language switcher when a translation plugin is activated. Breadcrumbs and support for SEO tools are built into the theme’s setup, ensuring the store remains scalable with new content, new offers, and an additional language without needing to rebuild the interface.
